Zoology

I purchased this Michael Miller print "Zoology" in brown colourway - for a special custom. I have enough left for one more nappy - but going by the response on facebook I think I had better order some more.
It looks great on this black minky, but the background on the cotton print is a very dark coffee brown - I think next time I'll do it in this beautiful dark brown minky that I have - yummy

Tree of tranquility

On beautiful aqua minky.

I absolutely ADORE velour inners so I love getting orders for minky outers!! I get to play with my velour (so doesn't work with anything cotton on the outer :()

The black tree is so striking on this bright aqua minky, I just had to use lush black velour to really set it off

Cherry Flower fairies on white minky

So pretty and girly. I think this nappy with the white minky really works as a front snap - so soft and delicate

Pre-order stocking 8pm (QLD) Friday 26th March

Hey there Nappy Shoppers :),

Woo hoo!!! ANOTHER STOCKING
I've had a few emails asking when the latest previews will be up for sale and I always promised there would be a stocking in March (during the hunt) I'm squeezing it in at the last minute. As you can see on the order tracking page I still have a few orders to finish from last month but I decided to do the stocking early anyway so you could all use your discount code (yay- savings!!)

This means that this month's orders won't be started for a little while but I'm sure you'll agree the 5% off will be worth it.

On the subject of the Nappy Hunt.... I've had some good feedback on the mini-hunt - apparently it was a bit convoluted at first but is more fun now that it has been updated. As of today 550 people have found the icon WOWSERS!!
To use the Nappy Hunt discount code enter your code in at checkout and you will receive 5% off your order (not including shipping). The store is set to first to cart so you can take your time entering the code before you check out - there is no rush. I won't be able to retrospectively take the discount off so please make sure you put it in.

There have been A LOT of new newseletter subscribers so while I have you all here I'll recap some info from the last newsletter...

I am now (as of January this year) licenced to sew and sell nappies made from the Darling Diapers Unlimited Pattern. I am Australia's first official licencee!!!! This pattern is amazing and the GREATEST fit. Keep in mind the sizing is a little different to the norm though so don't order what your child "usually" wears - take the time before the stocking to check out sizing info here . My daughter is 12kg and fits in the small with room to spare. There are photos on this blog.

Don't forget the new section "Keep Me Clean" - at the moment this category consists of wipes, spare boosters and liners but I will be adding bubblebath/showergel, soaps and foamies in a few delicious signature scents - yummy!!!!

I think most people know about the order tracking page - people have been watching it and I have had a few comments. The order tracking page means that now you are able to see where I am up to with orders and where you are in the list. I update the order tracking page daily.
Orders that are not paid for immediately will be moved to the end of the list - once payment is received they will not jump back to their original position in the list but will start moving up the list from that time on - I have implemented this to avoid custom order delayed payments - and to keep it fair - you pay on time you get your nappy quicker.
Now for stocking details...

My Stockings are a little different to other online stockings you may have been to. I am trying to do something new that will keep everyone happy (including me tee hee). The stocking is a pre-order stocking with a difference - I have named them create-a-nappy, as you can choose from what I have available to "create" your dream nappy in the right size and closure.

You will see product listings as previews with a photo of the nappy made up in the partciular fabric - don't stalk these products - you need to buy one of the pre-order slots - here are the links to the right products for you to buy

There are 20 slots available - I have tried to spread them out evenly between the different styles. When the pre-order slots become available, from the drop down menu choose which nappy you want (check for pictures in the preview products) then choose your size, closure, embroidery (for plain minky) and minky colour (for half cotton). The previews of the nappy designs will never ebcome available - they are just that - "previews"

Please take the time to make sure you get your order right - you have plenty of time to work out exactly what you want - I will not take changes to orders after the stocking is finished - last time I was a bit relaxed on this and got orders wrong as the wrong order number was quoted on an email.
One last thing - the Wise Owl fabric is VERY limited - there will only be one of these nappies going live this month and that will cost a little more than the other "Flatter Me" nappies - this is directly related to the extra cost of this out of print hard to find designer cotton print. I actually have some other hard to find prints coming - they will also be limited but you don't have to worry about that until next month.
Ok I think that covers everything - let me kow if you have any questions... seriously I mean that - if you're confused - ask me - I will help you :)
For those that get timezones mixed up...
8pm QLD = NSW, VIC, ACT - 9pm, SA - 8.30pm, TAS - 8pm, NT - 7.30pm, WA - 6pm
actually can someone clarify that for me - what time is TAS - do they have daylight saving????

Some pre-order nappies

Some pre-order nappies from the last stocking.....

Small Tillbrook Sprites in Lavender - always a fave of mine

A funky green tree on lush pale green minky. This design was discovered by the customer before the stocking - she sent me a link and asked me to add it to the Photo Album - then she was able to use the design number in her order saving any confusion

Oooooh yummy Wildberry minky. I usually love this minky with the butterfly and cherry blossom but i think this scrolly hearts is extremetly effective too - delicious!!!

When is a plain minky nappy not plain???? When it's a funky print - just like this spacey print minky - perfect for boys - but then again - who says girls can't like astronauts and spaceships!!!

Small nappy on my 12kg baby

Sizing on the small nappies is from 6kg to 11kg but as you can see if you buy within those ranges you will definately get a decent wear out of the nappy

Evie is just over 12kg and she fits this Small Flatter Me side snap with a snap to go on either side.

I know I have promised pics of a 12kg bub in a small for a while so here they are :)

You can tell she wasn't keen on being my model - see in the last photo that's my hands keeping her arms out of the shot.... geez you think she's sit still for a blog photo

Not a nappy yet.... but digitised embroidery

Here's a perfect before and after pic of my digitising - first the pic I got by email, and secondly the design stitched out.

I know it's not a nappy yet but I'm doing that part today - I was so excited i just had to post a "half done" photo

I wasn't sure bout the choice of minky colour before I started - but really I should learn, the customer is always right LOL it looks great on that colour!!

Tillbrook Sprites pink - and a new minky colour

I have been on the hunt for a while now for a colour of minky to go with Tillbrook Sprites in pink. This Alexander Henry print is absolutely gorgeous - but has funny colours in it - the pink isn't really pink pink and the red is more of a rusty red.

I have 3 different light pink shades here and it never really matched any of those. I originally temed it with cherry - which looked stunning - but as the colours in this print are kind of muted I wanted something not as dark so the print would really work to it's potential

Soooooo was fabric browsing a while ago (as you do LOL) and came across this "coral" pink. It's not really a colour I would normally go for - but I thought I would give it a go. Of course I was a bit apprehensive at first because you know the colour on the screen isn't always the "real life" colour"

Well I needn't have worried - the match is absolutely perfectly spot on. Yaaaaaaaay - thanks Minky Delight - and thanks Maz for shipping it in with your minky order and saving me postage ;)

I hope you love it Tiana :)

Surf life saving nappy

This design was originally created (digitised) for a charity auction - since then I have received a few custom order requests for the same design.

Here's one in small front snap with a matching t-shirt. I love small nappies they're so cuuuuute

A Girly order shipping out

These gorgeous girly nappies have gone out to their new owner. I'm really enjoying working with minky prints lately - so lush and snuggly.

I absolutely adore dimple dot minky. I know it's not for everyone (you either love it or hate it and those that hate it REALLY hate it LOL) - I'm one of the ones that REALLY REALLY love it.

Evie has quite a few dimple dot minky nappies - and after the way she carried this one around the house ooohing and aaaaahhhing i'm guessing I need to make her a pink one with a brielle fairy on it ;)

Today's shipping

I had fun with boy nappies!!!!!

The top 2 are just so utterly gorgeous and sooooo utterly BOY!!!! I have been wanting to make a blue camo nappy for a while but always get busy - I was actually excited when Erin asked for this one. Oh and denim - anyone who knows me knows I LOVE denim minky - it looks so lush IRL - and for some reason every embroidery looks cool on denim 8)

The bottom 2 have stories....

On the left - that ones a surprise design for a special tester nappy - trying something a little bit different ;) if it works I'll tell you what it was, if it doesn't..... geez it's a pretty nappy isn't it LOL (I posted this pic on facebook with a challenge for anyone to guess the kanji on the back...)

The one on the bottom right is called "Wise Old Owl" I saw this fabric in a photo early last year - As soon as I saw it I just HAD TO have it - of course trust me to fall in love with a fabric that is a limited print done by a designer especially for one US fabric store chain.... gah ... and of course by the time i saw it, it was about 2 years out of print :( sad Tracey :(

I kind of laid off the search after about 2 months but I have never forgotten it and EVERY single time I find a new fabric store I do a hunt for the fabric

In December last year I was looking at Etsy (of all places) for a different Owl fabric (yeah I know isn't that always the way) and OMG!!!! what did I find instead.....

It was just one cut of the fabric and of course the lady selling it put a massive markup on it knowing it's OOP HTF - and I had to pay flat rate international shipping for that one piece of fabric - but my gosh it was worth it!!!!

Finally - a nappy for evie - only the second one this year!!

I actually made this applique design for the tillbrook nappies - it's taken from the shape of one of the butterflies on that fabric - but I just had to see what it woudl look like as a minky applique and I had this scrap of rainbow minky that was just screaming for it!!!

My Dh gets over the colour pink very fast so we compromised - pink snaps and embroidery thread, blue inner :D

Whenever I do a fabric co-op Evie loves to lay in the piles of velour - so of course I make her inners velour tee hee
